OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Elizabeth Dye-Farah OTR/L

 

Elizabeth holds a National Board Certification in occupational therapy as well as a state license.  She has worked in pediatrics for over 13 years and has treated a variety of diagnoses from birth-adulthood.  Elizabeth graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University.  She is a Miami native and a bilingual English and Spanish speaker. 

 

Elizabeth’s treatment approach is based upon merging a child’s strengths and weaknesses with specialized techniques in Neurodevelopment, Sensory Integration, Managing Challenging Behaviors, Handwriting Without Tears, Therapeutic Yoga, The Upper Extremity/Fine Motor Complex, ADL independence, and IADL community re-entry.  She is also trained in the Floortime approach, Interactive Metronome, Kinesiotaping, and incorporating Sensory Diets. 

 

Occupational therapy services at Be Unique Academy are provided in a 1:1 ratio and tailored to the child’s individualized needs.  Services are provided to children of all diagnoses and developmental delays.  OT improves fine motor, visual-perceptual, cognition, muscle strength, developmentally appropriate play skills, sensory processing/modulation, therefore, increasing independence in activities of daily living and school participation.  OT is conducted within the scope of a team approach, including teachers, speech pathologists, behavioral therapists, and each family’s specific needs.

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Denise Elizondo M.S., CCC - SLP 

 

Denise is the owner and clinical director of speech-language pathology programs at Speech Perfect. Denise is dedicated to identifying speech and language delays early in a child’s

development to promote greater success in learning and functioning in early schooling and beyond. With her soft voice and playful disposition, Denise easily sneaks in all her

communicative demands and therapeutic strategies when

working with children.

 

During her professional career, Denise has had the opportunity to work with a variety of pediatric populations and disorders. She has received specialized training in

socio-pragmatic communication and apraxia treatment.

 

Denise is a bilingual (English/Spanish) ASHA certified and state licensed speech-language pathologist who has been practicing her craft for seven years. Denise attended Marquette

University in Milwaukee, WI where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in speech-language pathology and audiology in 2007. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO in 2010.
